This beautiful deer must have noticed the fresh ears of corn I put out on the compost pile, he or she made a lot of strange noises as it ran back into the woods, most likely to warn others.
Today is really busy at the feeders - catbirds, titmice, flickers, gold finches, purple finches, cardinals, blue jays, nuthatches, Baltimore orioles (though I keep forgetting to buy them some oranges they seem happy with the berry suet). The woodpecker fledglings seem to be more agile today! The male rose breasted grosbeak was there briefly too.
I really need to put out a few more feeders, I was holding off to make sure the bears weren't going to come around and start stealing feeders again like they did last year.
